The Australian Government released the Aviation White Paper on 26 August 2024. The Aviation White Paper sets out the government’s vision for aviation towards 2050 and will deliver a range of initiatives to ensure a safe, competitive, productive and sustainable sector.

The White Paper acknowledges that emerging aviation technologies, such as drones and advanced air mobility (AAM) aircraft, will transform the use of airspace out to 2050. Chapter 11 of the White Paper explores what this means for Australia and the actions the government will take to enable new aviation technologies.
